Festival Orchestra Concert

This colorful concert tells the tale of a roguish libertine, evokes imagery
of the English countryside, and paints a vivid picture of the rolling hills
of Scotland. Strauss’ tale of the legend of Don Juan sets a dramatic stage,
and Festival veteran musician Robert Atherholt, Principal Oboe of the
Houston Symphony, brings Vaughan Williams’ lush oboe concerto to life.
Mendelssohn’s 3rd Symphony – the “Scottish” - rounds out the program.
