Donald Runnicles and the Festival Orchestra open the 2008 summer season with
a tribute to music’s most passionate hero! Leonard Bernstein would have
celebrated his 90th birthday this year – this concert replicates his final
public performance, given in Tanglewood 20 years ago. The Festival peppers
its summer program with the adventurous spirit of this imaginative composer,
conductor, pianist, teacher, humanitarian, thinker, and entertainer.
Join us onstage following Thursday's performance for a champagne toast to kick off the season!
Thursday's performance and celebration sponsored by Maggie & Dick Scarlett and The Jackson State Bank & Trust. Saturday's performance sponsored by Marge & Gil Ordway. Norman Krieger sponsored by Caroline & Ken Taylor.
