Our Music Director returns to the podium to close our 47th summer season. Young American pianist Adam Golka joins the Festival Orchestra to perform Ravel’s piano concerto in G, a piece that is a showcase for virtuosic talent and is in some parts strongly influenced by jazz harmonies and rhythms of the 1920’s. The impressionistic sounds of Debussy and sweeping romanticism of Rachmaninoff book-end the program – what a beautiful way to close the 2008 summer season!
Join us on stage following Saturday's performance for a reception to bid the summer season farewell.
Friday's performance sponsored by Jayne & Al Hilde, Jr. Saturday's performance and celebration sponsored by Joyce & John Caddell and The Caddell Foundation. Adam Golka sponsored by Hank Becks.
